Our sustainability mission
At Lavafields, we consider sustainability to be an integral part of our business objectives and operations, convinced that economic performance must go hand in hand with a positive impact on society and the planet. As a major player in the small electrical appliance market in Belgium and France, as well as in Europe and the rest of the world, we are fully aware of our responsibility towards our customers, employees, partners and future generations.
Our approach is based on the principles of “Environment, Social and Governance” (ESG) and goes beyond simply complying with the relevant rules. Since 2023, we have implemented a robust ESG framework that structures the implementation of our business missions and priorities and is aligned with European best practices and the expectations of all our stakeholders.
Lavafields’ commitment is part of the United Nations’ global vision through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have identified five priority SDGs that guide our daily actions:

These commitments are embodied in all our actions: from the use of green electricity and the sustainability of our products to the promotion of well-being at work, responsible governance and the direct involvement of our management in the implementation of our ESG actions.
We have a clear objective: to ensure that our actions today also benefit future generations, combining profitability, respect for the planet and people’s well-being, and to become a trusted partner for all those who share our ambitions.
Environment
Decarbonise, innovate and protect
The ecological transition is a priority at Lavafields, supported by our management and shared at all levels of the company. We believe that every industrial player, including our group, must actively contribute to limiting climate change, preserving biodiversity and conserving natural resources.
Our ambition is to significantly reduce our environmental footprint at every stage of our products’ life cycle, while accelerating their circularity and promoting responsible innovation.
We took a major step forward with the completion of our first carbon assessment in 2025, which enabled us to identify precisely where we can take action and set concrete CO2 reduction targets.
We are also undertaking several concrete initiatives, including:
- Electrifying our fleet of company vehicles and installing charging stations;
- Switching to 100% green electricity at our sites;
- Using more sustainable packaging (84% recycled/responsible paper or cardboard);
- The gradual reduction of the use of plastics, PFAS and EPS;
- The filing and granting of a first patent aimed primarily at reducing the energy consumption of our devices;
- A continuous eco-design approach aimed at improving the recyclability and repairability of our products, and responsible internal waste management;
- Increased availability of spare parts, extended warranty periods (10 years for Frifri products), the award of Longtime® certification for some of our Magimix products; and
- Greater awareness and stricter requirements for our suppliers regarding compliance with ESG principles.
People are the key to our sustainable performance. Lavafields is committed to ensuring a healthy, inclusive and stimulating working environment for its employees and to promoting strong social values throughout its value chain.

We also offer regular training to our employees to ensure their personal development, with a focus on skills development, diversity, equal opportunities, safety and business ethics.

Societal
Solidarity and local impact
Fighting malnutrition
We have set up an internal working group dedicated to implementing field actions and strategic partnerships with organisations specialising in the fight against malnutrition.
Our goal is to promote “good nutrition” through the creation of educational sessions aimed at disadvantaged audiences, with a measurable impact on local communities, and to allocate a portion of our profits to improving access to healthy and balanced nutrition, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Solidarity initiatives
We also support certain charitable causes, such as co-financing the Origami for Ukraine initiative, an innovative project that mobilises art and creativity in the service of a humanitarian cause, providing concrete support to populations affected by conflict.
We believe that responsible governance is key to ensuring the credibility and sustainability of our ESG approach. Sustainable development is taken into account in many internal decisions: our Chief Sustainability Officer sits on our group’s executive committee and, together with his team, steers our ESG strategy in collaboration with all our operational teams.
We are anticipating European regulatory changes (e.g. CSRD) and preparing our first sustainability report. Our double materiality analysis has helped us prioritise our ESG issues.
Ethics and integrity are at the heart of our practices: a strict Code of Ethics, which is regularly reviewed, governs all our activities (e.g. anti-corruption, competition, data protection). A whistleblower procedure, accessible to all, was also put in place even before we were subject to any obligations in this area, thereby promoting transparency and freedom of speech among our teams.
We also ensure that our partners and suppliers are aware of these issues by codifying and entering into a contract our ESG requirements.
